Kentucky voters, activists, and newcomers want to keep up with bills in Frankfort, but we're limited to what the media chooses to cover or we have to dig through the decades-old government sites where the bill data lives. Tools like LegiScan and Open States exist, but they're not intuitive, and they're full of jargon. That leaves folks feeling confused, frustrated, and even discouraged.
Challenge
Digitization made public records easier to find, but easier to find isn't the same as easy to understand. Most people have no idea what bills are moving through their state legislature, let alone how those bills will affect them.
Solution
I built Know Your Vote Kentucky to make following bills and legislators as easy as following friends on social media. You can search bills, legislators, and committees; follow the ones you care about through configurable email updates and digests; look up who your legislators even are (for folks brand new to politics); and hover over plain-English tooltips that translate the government jargon in context. Behind the scenes, recurring syncs pull committees, meetings, agendas, and bill updates from Open States and official Kentucky sources straight to your inbox.
I designed, built, and currently maintain the product under my studio, The Eighth Dimension — from thumbnail sketches to production, with AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursor).
