The National Task Force on Election Crises needed a tool that could surface election incident data to the people who had to act without any partisan signal in the design.
Challenge
Our team collected and input data, but the real challenge was how to present it — clearly and nonpartisan, for a tense election season. When the subject is election integrity, color decisions on a choropleth map aren't just aesthetic.
Solution
I designed a dashboard built on Mapbox, with a choropleth map, custom incident category icons, and contextual popups to clarify methodology. I also led the vendor relationship, user testing, and all of the public-facing launch materials. The dashboard launched on April 11, 2024.
